The Chicago Cubs are adding All-Star closer Wade Davis to the back end of their bullpen. The Cubs sent outfielder Jorge Soler to the Kansas City Royals in exchange for Davis.
The right-hander is 19-and-4 with 47 saves and a 1.18 ERA over the past three seasons since converting full-time to the bullpen. He is set to become a free agent after the 2017 season.
Davis had 27 saves with the Royals this past season.
Soler hit .238 with 12 home runs in 86 games for the Cubs last season. He's signed through the 2020 season.
