Roberto Perez hit a solo homer and a three-run shot for the Indians, who are trying for their first championship since 1948. The Cubs haven't won since 1908. Corey Kluber [struck out nine over six-plus innings of four-hit ball for the win. Andrew Miller and Cody Allen finished up, with Tribe pitchers striking out 15 Cubs in all.
Jon Lester allowed three runs in five-and-two-thirds frames to take the loss. Ben Zobrist went 3-for-4 for Chicago. The Indians host Game Two tonight with the first pitch at 6:08.
