Cubs 1 win away from World Series

The Chicago Cubs are headed home with a 3-2 lead in the National League Championship Series. The Cubs beat the Dodgers 8-4 in Game Five in Los Angeles. Addison Russell snapped a 1-all tie with a two-run homer in the sixth inning and Chicago broke it open with five more in the eighth. Javier Baez highlighted the frame with a three-run double to give the Cubs an 8-1 lead. Jon Lester pitched seven innings of one-run ball for the win. Joe Blanton served up Russell's homer to take the loss in relief. Carlos Ruiz had an RBI double in the eighth and Josh Reddick and Andrew Toles knocked in runs in the ninth for LA.

Chicago is just a win away from its first trip to the World Series since 1945. The Cubs host Game Six of the NLCS Saturday at Wrigley Field.
