Arrieta improved to 18-and-7 after he allowed five hits and walked just one batter. Anthony Rizzo collected three hits, and Ben Zobrist drove in a pair of runs as the Cubs won their 98th game.

The Indians piled up four runs in the fifth and sixth innings as they rolled the White Sox, 10-4, in Cleveland. Jose Ramirez finished 2-for-5 with a homer, a double, four RBIs, and three runs. Mike Napoli was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs, and Coco Crisp drove in three runs on three hits. Trevor Bauer pitched seven-and-two-thirds innings to pick up the win, moving to 12-and-8.
