Kyle Hendricks took a no-hitter into the ninth as the Cubs cut down the Cardinals, 4-1. Jeremy Hazelbaker led off the frame with a solo homer to break up the bid. Hendricks was removed after the homer but improved to 15-and-7 with the win. Aroldis Chapman earned his 14th save. Dexter Fowler and Ben Zobrist went deep for Chicago, which is 92-and-51 on the season.
Mike Leake dipped to 9-and-10 with the loss. St. Louis remains a half-game back of the Mets for the second NL Wild Card spot.
