John Lester struck out seven over seven shutout innings as the Cubs blanked the Astros, 2-0, in Houston. Lester improved to 16-and-4 on the year, and Aroldis Chapman picked up his 13th save in a Cubs jersey. Kris Bryant provided the offense with a two-run homer in the fifth inning. The Cubs improved to an MLB-best 90-and-50.
Houston's Joe Musgrove gave up the homer to take the loss. The Astros are on a three-game skid.
The Cubs and the Astros play again today in Houston.
