Chicago Baseball

The White Sox used a quartet of home runs to power their way past the Mariners, 9-3, at U.S. Cellular Field. Jose Abreu, Avisail ] Garcia, Alex Avila , and Tyler Saladino all went deep in the win. Abreu's solo shot in the first inning extended his hitting streak to 10 games. Jose Quintana improved to 11-and-9, striking out eight over seven-and-two-thirds innings.

Seattle's Ariel Miranda took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits while walking three in four innings. The Mariners will try to split the four-game series on Sunday.

Final game of the series is this afternoon with the Pre-Game Show at 12:35 on Newstalk 1060.

The Dodgers came away with a 3-2 win over the Cubs in the second of a three-game series at Chavez Ravine.  Julio Urias kept Chicago's bats quiet, striking out eight over six innings of one-run ball to improve to 5-and-2.  Kenley Jansen closed it out for his 38th save.  Corey Seager  hit his 23rd homer for Los Angeles, which ended a brief two-game losing streak.

Anthony Rizzo and Jason Heyward each drove in a run in the loss.  Jason Hammel fell to 13-and-7, giving up three runs on five hits and not making it out of the third inning.  The Cubs had won their previous four.

The Cubs complete their road trip in L.A. this afternoon with the Dodgers.
