Several of the top golfers in the world tee it up today for the first round of the 2016 John Deere Classic in Silvis.
The 46th annual tournament in the Quad Cities will be played at the TPC Deere Run. The tournament has been held at Deere Run since 2000.
This year's John Deere Classic was pushed back a month to August due to the Summer Olympics. The men's competition began todday in Rio De Janeiro.
This year's tournament includes former champions Steve Sticker and Zach Johnson. Stricker won the tournament 3 straights years between 2009 and 2011.
This year's purse is 4.8 million dollars with the winner on Sunday taking home a check worth $864,000 along with a John Deere Gator.
The John Deere Classic will be back to its normal schedule in July for the 2017 PGA season.
