Pedro Alvarez launched two solo home runs and the Orioles took down the White Sox, 7-5, in Chicago. Manny Machado drove in two runs with three of Baltimore's 16 hits. Yovani Gallardo tossed six innings of two-run ball to get the win and Zach Britton closed things out to earn his 34th save. The O's committed a season-high four errors but took the series-opener nonetheless.
Chicago starter Miguel Gonzalez allowed four runs on ten hits to suffer the loss. Jose Abreu went long and Carlos Sanchez had a two-run double in defeat. The Sox have now dropped four of their last five.
