The Tigers trimmed the White Sox, 2-1, in a rain-shortened affair in Chicago. The game was called after the top of the seventh inning. Ian Kinsler and Miguel Cabrera belted solo homers in the fifth. Mike Pelfrey went five-and-a-third innings to improve to 3-and-9. Shane Greene was credited with his second save.
Tim Anderson laced an RBI single for the Sox. James Shields dropped to 2-and-5 with the loss.
