Eric Hosmer homered and plated two as the American League downed the National League, 4-2, in the 87th MLB All-Star Game. Hosmer was named the game's MVP. Royals teammate Salvador Perez launched a go-ahead two-run homer for the AL, which will have home-field advantage in the World Series for the fourth straight year. Corey Kluber got the win and Zach Britton earned the save.
Chicago's Kris Bryant smacked a solo homer in the first for the NL, which has lost 11 of the 14 All-Star Games since the format change in 2003. NL starter and former Royal Johnny Cueto took the loss.
Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo singled in the fourth, while White Sox pitcher Jose Quintana tossed a scoreless fifth. The AL has won four straight All-Star Games and will again have home-field advantage in the World Series
