The Dwyane Wade era in Miami is over. Wade plans to leave the Heat and sign with the Chicago Bulls. Wade has spent his entire 13-year career in Miami after being selected with the fifth-overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft. The 12-time All-Star helped lead the Heat to NBA titles in 2006, 2012 and 2013. The Chicago native was named Most Valuable Player of the Finals in 2006.
Contract negotiations between Wade and Heat president Pat Riley got contentious for a second straight offseason, but there was no return this time. The Vertical stated Wade's contract will be a two-year, 47-million-dollar deal. Wade wanted a third year from the Heat, but they weren't willing to go there.
He joins Rajon Rondo and Jimmy Butler on a new-look Bulls' team. Chicago moved Jose Calderon to the Lakers and Mike Dunleavy Junior to the Cavaliers to open up room to sign Wade.
