Anthony Rizzo hit a three-run, inside-the-park home run in the first inning and the Cubs cruised to a 9-2 win over the Reds at Great American Ball Park. Addison Russell and Albert Almora Jr. also homered for Chicago, which swept the three-game series. Kyle Hendricks pitched six-and-two-thirds innings of two-run ball to even his record at 6-and-6.
Cody Reed was rocked for nine hits and seven runs in just four innings of work to fall to 0-and-2 for Cincinnati. Adam Duvall homered and Zach Cozart had an RBI groundout for the Reds, who have lost seven-of-eight.
The Cubs will be in New York tonight to open up a 4-game series with the Mets.
