Jose Fernandez struck out 13 batters over seven innings to help the Marlins crush the Cubs, 6-1, in Miami. It was the tenth victory this season for the Marlins' ace. Martin Prado broke the game open with a three-run double in the eighth as the Fish wrapped up the series victory.
Chicago's lone run came in the sixth inning on a sac-fly from Kris Bryant. Jason Hammel allowed just two runs in six innings but suffered the loss. The Cubs have now dropped six-of-seven but still hold the best record in the majors.
