Former Rockford Auburn High School and Wichita State basketball star Fred Vav Vleet has signed a free agent contract with the Toronto Raptors.
Van Vleet was not chosen by any NBA team last Thursday night during the draft.
He apparently turn down 2 chances to be drafted this week, but the teams wanted him to play 2 years in the NBA Development League at a salary of $20,000 a year.
Van Vleet plans to play on Toronto's summer league in Las Vegas and then get invited to their training camp. He is expected to play in at least 3 summer league games.
Van Vleet was a 2-time Missouri Valley Conference player of the year at Wichita State.
