One of the league's top teams has traded one of the sport's top
prospects, with the Blackhawks dealing Teuvo Teravainen to the
Hurricanes. Carolina also acquired Bryan Bickell while Chicago
received two draft picks.
The 21-year-old Teravainen is coming off
his first full NHL season, totaling 13 goals and 22 assists, after
he helped the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup a season earlier with
10 points in the playoffs.
However, Chicago dealt him in order to
clear salary-cap space by dumping Bickell, who held a cap hit of $4
million next season.
