Alex Avila [[ a-VEE-la ]] homered twice and drove in three for Chicago, which has won two straight after losing its previous five in a row. Melky Cabrera and Brett Lawrie also homered for the Sox. Chris Sale picked up his 10th win of the season, despite allowing five runs in six innings.
Ian Kennedy took the loss for Kansas City, which has dropped eight straight. Eric Hosmer homered twice in the loss. Salvador Perez also went deep for KC.
