Ryan Howard homered to back seven stellar innings from Jerad Eickhoff, as the Phillies clipped the Cubs 3-2 at Citizens Bank Park. Eickhoff struck out eight, while giving up just one run on two hits and two walks as he moved to 3-and-8 with the victory. Jeanmar Gomez tossed the final two innings for his 19th save. Maikel Franco and Odubel Herrera also plated a run each for the Phils, who have traded wins and losses over their last six games.
Kyle Hendricks allowed two runs in five frames as he dipped to 4-and-5 for Chicago.
