Anthony Rendon homered and plated three as the Nationals smoked the White Sox, 10-5. Bryce Harper also knocked in three runs for Washington in the opener of the three-game set. Blake Treinen picked up the win with three scoreless innings of relief.
Todd Frazier slugged a two-run homer for Chicago, which dropped to 29-and-29. Mat Latos didn't make it out of the fifth after allowing six runs. He fell to 6-and-2. The White Sox have lost 19 out of their last 25 games.
