Winning streak reaches 6 games for the Cubs

Travis Wood threw four innings of hitless relief after starter Jason Hammel was hurt as the Cubs shut out the Dodgers 2-0 at Wrigley Field. Wood struck out four without a walk to improve to 3-and-0. Hammel left after two innings with a hamstring cramp. Jason Heyward had an RBI infield single and Anthony Rizzo a run-scoring double in the fifth for Chicago, which won its sixth in-a-row. Alex Wood gave up two runs in five frames to fall to 1-and-4 for Los Angeles.

Justin Turner singled for the Dodgers' lone hit in the first inning. Cubs pitchers set down the final 25 Dodger batters in order.
