The Cubs jumped out to a seven-nothing lead en route to a 7-2 win over the Phillies at Wrigley Field. Ben Zobrist launched a three-run homer in the third inning to help propel the Cubs to their fifth straight win. Chicago's John Lackey pitched seven solid innings, striking out six while allowing one run on four hits to earn his fifth win of the season.
Tyler Goeddel homered for the Phillies, who have dropped seven of nine. Vince Velasquez allowed all seven runs for his second loss of the season.
The Cubs open up a 4-game series against the Dodgers tonight at Wrigley Field.
