Matt Cain pitched six strong innings and gave San Francisco an early lead with a two-run double in the second inning to help the Giants top the Cubs, 5-3, at AT&T Park. Cain picked up his first win of the season while striking out five. Buster Posey added a two-run homer in third for San Francisco, which has won 9-of-10.
Chicago's Jon Lester lasted less than three innings, taking his third loss of the season. Kris Bryant and Dexter Fowler homered for the Cubs, who have dropped four-of-six.
