Jake Arrieta tossed a gem as the Cubs crushed the Pirates, 8-2 in Chicago. Arrieta struck out 11 batters in eight innings of two-run ball, and is now 7-and-0. Anthony Rizzo finished with four RBI, including a three-run dinger. Addison Russell also went long for the Cubs, who are 27-and-8.
The Cubs are (5-0) vs Pittsburgh this season.
Jeff Locke surrendered six runs and took the loss. The Pirates got a two-run single from Francisco Cervelli and need a win today to prevent the sweep for the second time this season against the Cubs.
