Arrieta throws no-hitter against the Reds

Jake Arrieta  fired his second career no-hitter in the Cubs' 16-0 rout of the Reds. Arrieta walked four and struck out six en route to becoming the fifth active pitcher with multiple no-hitters. It's the first no-no of the season and the 15th in Cubs history. Kris Bryant went 4-for-6 with two homers and six RBI as the Cubs improved to 12-and-4.

Brandon Finnegan allowed five runs in four innings to fall to 1-and-1.

Game #2 of the series is tonight in Cincinnati.

Mike Trout blasted a two-run home run and the Angels held on to edge the White Sox 3-2 at U.S. Cellular Field.  Trout connected for his second homer of the season to break up a scoreless game in the fifth.  Melky Cabrera hit a solo shot in the seventh for Chicago, but Carlos Perez laid down a sacrifice in the ninth to plate an insurance run for Los Angeles, which split the four-game series.  Jered Weaver pitched seven innings of one-run ball for the win.  Huston Street gave up a solo homer to Todd Frazier in the ninth, but hung on for his fourth save.  John Danks fell to 0-and-3 with the loss.

The White Sox begin at 3-game series tonight against Texas in Chicago. The Pre-Game Show begins at 6:35 on Newstalk 1060.
