Latos allowed three hits and one run over six innings to move to 2-and-0. David Robertson fanned two in the ninth en route to his fifth save. Avisail Garcia went 2-for-4 with a home run for Chicago, which won its fourth in-a-row to improve to 7-and-2.
Ervin Santana surrendered three runs in seven innings to drop to 0-and-1. Joe Mauer had a triple to highlight the attack for Minnesota, which fell to 0-and-9.

The Cubs are off to their best start since 1969 after beating the Reds, 8-1. Kris Bryant homered and Dexter Fowler had three hits and two RBI to help the Cubs improve to 8-and-1. Jason Hammel fired six shutout innings for his first win.
Tucker Barnhart plated a run in the ninth for Cincinnati, which was swept in the three-game set. Raisel Iglesias allowed three runs in five innings to take the loss.
