David Backes scored 9:04 into overtime to give the Blues a 1-0 win over the Blackhawks in Game One of their quarterfinal series. Brian Elliott stopped all 35 shots he faced to help St. Louis grab a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven set.
Corey Crawford made 17 saves for Chicago, which went 0-for-5 on the power play. The Blues host Game Two Friday.
