Win streak reaches 9 games for the Blackhawks

Jonathan Toews  and Ryan Garbutt scored first-period goals as the Blackhawks clipped the Canadiens, 2-1, at the Bell Centre. Corey Crawford made 39 saves in Chicago's ninth straight win. Head coach Joel Quenneville passed Al Arbour for second place on the all-time wins list with his 783rd victory.

Paul Byron scored Montreal's only goal in the first period, briefly knotting the game at one. The Habs have lost three of their past four games.
