Teuvo Teravainen [added an empty-net goal late in the third for the 'Hawks, who were coming off a 3-2 win in Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Scott Darling denied 17 of the 18 shots he faced in the victory, Chicago's fifth straight.
Evgeni Malkin netted his 19th goal of the year for the Pens, who have dropped four of six. Marc-Andre Fleury allowed two goals on 36 shots in the setback.
The Blackhawks return to action Friday night at home against Buffalo.
