Semyon Varlamov stopped 29 shots as the Avalanche blanked the Blackhawks, 3-0. Varlamov posted his first shutout of the season in Colorado's third straight win. Matt Duchene, Zach Redmond and Gabriel Landeskog had the goals in the victory. Corey Crawford made 24 saves for Chicago, which had won its previous two. Patrick Kane's franchise-record 26-game points streak came to an end.
Blackhawks return to action at the United Center on Thursday night against Edmonton.
