The Chicago Cubs are showing off new outfielder Jason Heyward. The 26-year-old was formally introduced Tuesday after agreeing to an eight-year, 184-million-dollar contract last week. Heyward says he's looking forward to a great future in Chicago.
Heyward spent last season with the St. Louis Cardinals after being acquired from Atlanta last offseason in a trade for pitcher Shelby Miller. The three-time Gold Glove winner hit .293 with 13 home runs, 60 RBI and 23 stolen bases with the Redbirds in 2015. Heyward spent his first five seasons with the Braves. He's a career .268 hitter with 97 home runs, 352 RBI and 86 steals in six big league seasons. Heyward slugged a career-high 27 homers in 2012.
