Free-agent outfielder Jason Heyward will be playing in the Windy City. Heyward has agreed to an eight-year, 184-million-dollar contract with the Chicago Cubs.
The 26-year-old was considered the top available outfielder on the open market. Heyward hit .293 with 13 home runs, 60 RBI and 23 stolen bases last season for the St. Louis Cardinals, while also winning his second straight Gold Glove Award and third of his career.
He spent his first five seasons with the Atlanta Braves before being traded to St. Louis in November of 2014. Heyward is a career .268 batter with 97 home runs and 86 steals.
