Illinois interim head coach Bill Cubit is sticking around. The school announced a two-year extension for Cubit to remain the team's head coach. Cubit served as the interim coach after Tim Beckman was fired a week before the season. He was previously the Illini's offensive coordinator. Illinois started the year 4-and-1, but lost six of their final seven games to end the year at 5-and-7.
Cubit joined Illinois in 2013 after serving as Western Michigan's head coach for eight seasons.
