The Bears are cutting ties with backup quarterback Jimmy Clausen. The Bears have waived Clausen and are replacing him on the active roster with quarterback David Fales. Head coach John Fox says Clausen was cut because other teams were interested in adding Fales.
It's a quick turnaround for the Bears as they will battle the rival Packers Thanksgiving night. Tight end Martellus Bennett suffered a rib injury in Sunday's loss to the Broncos and his status for Thursday's game is unknown.
