Bulls win opener in front of President Obama

Derrick Rose recorded 18 points and five assists as the Bulls clipped the Cavaliers 97-95 in the season opener at the United Center. Chicago gave new head coach Fred Hoiberg a win in his NBA debut. Nikola Mirotic  posted 19 points and nine rebounds, while Jimmy Butler added 17 points for the Bulls, who were eliminated by the Cavs in the East semifinals last season.

LeBron James racked up 25 points, 10 boards and five assists to pace Cleveland, which is seeking a second consecutive trip to the NBA Finals. Kevin Love had 18 points and eight rebounds in the setback.

The Bulls will be in Brooklyn tonight against the Nets. The Pre-Game Show begins at 6 on Newstalk 1060.
