The National League Championship Series gets underway Saturday with Game One as the New York Mets host the Chicago Cubs at Citi Field. Jon Lester takes the mound for the Cubs in the opener of the best-of-seven series, while the Mets counter with Matt Harvey. First pitch is slated for 8:07 p.m. Eastern. The Cubs are in the NLCS for the first time since 2003 after beating the Cardinals in four games in their Division Series. The Mets are in the NLCS for the first time since 2006 after outlasting the Dodgers in five games in their Division Series.
The Cubs won all seven regular-season meetings against the Mets this year, with all seven encounters in the first-half of the season. The Cubs haven't reached the World Series since 1945 and haven't won a Fall Classic since way back in 1908. The Mets' last World Series was in 2000 when they lost to the Yankees. They last won it all against the Red Sox in 1986.
