The Mets are moving on to the National League Championship Series after defeating the Dodgers, 3-2, in the decisive Game Five of their Division Series in Los Angeles. Daniel Murphy snapped a 2-all tie with a solo homer in the sixth for the Mets, who will host the Cubs in the opener of the best-of-seven NLCS on Saturday. Murphy also had an RBI double in the first, and went first to third on a walk in the fourth when no one was covering the base. Murphy then scored on Travis d'Arnaud's sac-fly. Jacob deGrom gutted his way through six innings to earn his second win of the series. Jeurys Familia was perfect over the final two innings to notch his second save. Justin Turner and Andre Ethier singled in runs in the first for the Dodgers, who were bounced in the NLDS for the second straight year. Zack Greinke allowed all three runs in six-and-two-thirds to take the loss.
Pitchers in Game #1 of the NLCS are Jon Lester for the Cubs and Matt Harvey for the Mets.
