Cubs ace Jake Arrieta is being honored for the second straight month. Arrieta has been named the NL Pitcher of the Month for September after also earning the honor in August. Arrieta was 4-and-0 with a MLB-best 0.45 ERA last month.
The Cubs will clash with the Pirates in the NL Wild Card game tomorrow night in Pittsburgh. The Cubs are appearing in the playoffs for the first time since 2008. Tomorrow's winner will meet the Cardinals in the NLDS.
The Cubs come into the game with an 8-game winning streak.
