Dan Haren allowed one run in six innings of work as the Cubs topped the Brewers 3-1 from Miller Park. Haren improved to 11-and-9 with Travis Wood notching his fourth save. Anthony Rizzo plated two runs as Chicago finishes the regular season at 97-and-65. The Cubs will head to Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates in the National League Wild Card Game on Wednesday. Shane Peterson drove in the lone run as Milwaukee was held to just three hits. Jorge Lopez slipped to 1-and-1 with five innings of three-run ball as the Brewers finish 68-and-94.
The red-hot Cubs will have to go on the road for the NL Wild Card game. The Pirates clinched home-field for the affair with a 4-0 win over the Reds on Sunday. Chicago would have hosted the game with a Pittsburgh loss. Jake Arrieta is slated to opposed the Bucs' Gerrit Cole at approximately 6:08 Wednesday night.
