Zach Davies tossed six scoreless innings to lead the Brewers to a 4-1 win over the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Davies scattered two hits and two walks while striking out four to earn his second win. Francisco Rodriguez closed it out for his 35th save. Martin Maldonado drove in a pair of runs to help Milwaukee avoid a three-game sweep. Jorge Soler slugged a solo homer for the Cubs, who lost for only the second time in nine games. Kyle Hendricks fanned eight, but allowed three runs in six-plus innings to fall to 7-and-7.
The Cubs have the day off today. They open up a 3-game series against Pittsburgh at Wrigley Field on Friday.
