Martinez added a two-run double in a four-run third inning that put Detroit ahead 6-0. Justin Verlander struck out eight over seven innings of five-hit, three-run ball to improve to 4-and-8 on the season as the Tigers split the four-game series. Frankie Montas gave up six runs in just three innings to take the loss for Chicago in his first career start. Melky Cabrera went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and an RBI double for the White Sox in defeat.
