Jeff Samardzija fired a complete-game one-hitter as the White Sox shut out the Tigers 2-0 in the first of a day-night doubleheader in Detroit. Kyle Ryan gave up just six hits and two runs in seven innings of work, but fell to 2-and-4 with the tough-luck loss. The Tigers lost their second straight after a four-game winning streak.
