Trevor Plouffe homered twice and drove in three to power the Twins to a 6-2 win over the White Sox in Chicago. Eduardo Escobar added a solo blast for the Twins, who are a game behind Texas for the second AL Wild Card spot. Ervin Santana tossed seven innings of two-run ball to improve to 5-and-4.
Adam Eaton launched a two-run homer for Chicago in the opener of the three-game set. Reliever Nate Jones suffered his second loss.
