Cardinals score 3 runs in the 8th ining as they beat the Cubs


Stephen Piscotty doubled home two runs to cap a three-run eighth inning as the Cardinals rallied to beat the Cubs 4-3 at Busch Stadium. Matt Carpenter's RBI single ignited the comeback for St. Louis, which salvaged the finale of the three-game series. Jason Heyward also had an RBI single in the win. Jonathan Broxton struck out the side in the top of the eighth and got credit for the win. Trevor Rosenthal posted his 43rd save. Fernando Rodney blew the save for Chicago, with Clayton Richard getting saddled with the loss. Anthony Rizzo, Tommy La Stella and Dexter Fowler had run-scoring hits for the Cubs.

The Cubs will be in Philadelphia tonight to open up a 4-game series.
