Jose Ramirez also hit a solo shot for Cleveland, which took two of three from Chicago. Josh Tomlin earned his fifth win and Cody Allen worked around trouble to hold on for his 30th save. Jose Abreu, Trayce Thompson and Tyler Saladino each sent one out in the loss. Jeff Samardzija gave up four runs on eight hits in six-and-two-thirds innings to fall to 9-and-12.
