Dexter Fowler hit a leadoff home run and the Chicago Cubs never looked back dominating the St. Louis Cardinals 9-0 from Busch Stadium. Fowler added a double and two more RBI, while Addison Russell connected for his 13th home run of the season. Dan Haren evened his record at 9-and-9 after shutting out the Cardinals for seven innings. Haren scattered seven hits and struck out five. Lance Lynn did not make it out of the third inning, falling to 11-and-9 overall. He gave up six runs on seven hits. Jason Heyward went 2-for-2 with a walk. The Cardinals' NL Central lead is down to five-and-a-half games over Pittsburgh.
