The White Sox held off a late rally as they completed the three-game sweep with a 7-5 win at Kauffman Stadium. The Southsiders led 6-1 in the sixth inning before allowing the Royals within one. Avisail Garcia and Bobby Abreu each had two RBI. Erik Johnson earned the win in his first major league appearance this season with six innings of three-run ball. David Robertson secured his 29th save for Chicago. Johnny Cueto lost his fourth straight start, lasting three innings while giving up five runs. Mike Moustakas, Jarrod Dyson and Salvador Perez all left the yard for the Royals.

Miguel Montero beat his former team with a go-ahead grand slam in the sixth inning as the Cubs completed a three-game sweep of the Diamondbacks with a 6-4 win at Wrigley Field. Jonathan Herrera and Kris Bryant hit solo shots for the Cubs, who outscored the D'backs 22-9 in the series. Justin Grimm grabbed the win. Nick Ahmed and former Cub Welington Castillo both went deep in the ninth for Arizona, which lost its fourth straight to finish 2-and-5 on its road trip to Colorado and Chicago. Rubby De La Rosa permitted three runs in five-plus innings to fall to 12-and-7.
The Cubs will be in St. Louis this afternoon against the Cardinals to begin a 3-game series.
