Cubs beat the Reds 5-4


Kyle Schwarber's two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh lifted the Cubs to a 5-4 win over the Reds at Wrigley Field. Schwarber scored three runs, two of which came on a pair of Kris Bryant singles. Fernando Rodney allowed a Eugenio Suarez go-ahead solo homer in the seventh, but was credited with the win. Hector Rondon notched his 25th save. Joey Votto homered and knocked in two for Cincinnati, which has dropped 15 of 18. Burke Badenhop took the loss.

Final game in the series is this afternoon at Wrigley Field.
