White Sox beat the Cubs 3-1 behind 15 strikeouts from Chris Sale

Chris Sale matched a career-high with 15 strikeouts as the White Sox slowed down the red-hot Cubs with a 3-1 win at U.S. Cellular Field. Sale allowed just one hit and two walks over seven scoreless innings as he improved to 11-and-7 with the win. David Robertson gave up a solo homer to Jorge Soler in the ninth, but held on for his 24th save. Jose Abreu, Melky Cabrera and Alexei Ramirez all went deep for the Southsiders. Dan Haren yielded all three homers in less than five frames to fall to 8-and-8. The Cubs saw their nine-game winning streak come to an end.

The White Sox begin at 7-game road trip tonight in Anaheim against the L.A. Angels. The Pre-Game Show starts at 8:30 on Newstalk 1060.

The Cubs have the day off. They return to action Tuesday night at Wrigley Field against Detroit.
