Cardinals and Brewers both win

John Lackey gave up two runs and pitched into the ninth inning to help the Cardinals beat the Marlins, 6-2, at Busch Stadium. Lackey struck out six and added an RBI-single as he improved to 10-and-7 on the year. Mark Reynolds belted a three-run homer and Randal Grichuk clubbed a solo shot for the Cards, who have won eight of 10. Brad Hand got tagged with the loss after giving up all six runs on 11 hits in six innings of work. Justin Bour launched a solo homer as Miami dropped its second straight game since winning three in-a-row. Ichiro Suzuki's first-inning single gave him hit number 4,192 for his career, passing Ty Cobb for second in baseball history.

Jean Segura hit the go-ahead RBI-single in the seventh inning as the Brewers pushed past the Phillies, 4-2, at Miller Park.  Scooter Gennett went 4-for-4 with a pair of RBI and Khris Davis collected two hits for Milwaukee, which has won back-to-back games since losing five of six.  Will Smith got credit for the win in relief of Jimmy Nelson while Francisco Rodriguez notched his 28th save.  Chase Utley connected on a solo home run and Ryan Howard singled in a run in defeat.  Justin De Fratus fell to 0-and-2 with the relief loss.  The Phils have dropped four of five.
