Tampa Bay beats the White Sox 5-4

Mikie Mahtook singled in the go-ahead run with two outs in the top of the ninth inning as the Rays edged the White Sox 5-4 in the opener of a three-game series at U.S. Cellular Field. Grady Sizemore tied the game with a solo homer in the eighth inning for Tampa, which has won two in-a-row since a three-game skid. Logan Forsythe plated two runs and Evan Longoria had three hits and an RBI in the victory. Jake McGee picked up his first win and Brad Boxberger his 27th save. Carlos Sanchez smacked a two-run homer in the seventh to give Chicago a brief 4-3 lead. Jose Abreu went deep in the sixth for the Sox, who have lost four of five since a seven-game winning streak. David Robertson suffered the loss.
